10 HOUR SUPER GLOW IN THE DARK PIGMENT POWDER - In-stock and Shipping
10 Hour Super Glow in the Dark Powder or glow pigment as it is sometimes called, is the key ingredient used in the manufacture of all 10 Hour Super Glow lures. This product works by absorbing and releasing light energy. When the surrounding is bright, this release of light energy cannot be seen. Only when it is dark, the release of light energy is seen as a glow. This new 10 Hour Super Glow will glow for up to 10 hours. Yes, that's 10 hours not minutes. Our new 10 Hour Super Glow powder is Strontium Aluminate with Europium as an activator. The powder is a non-radioactive phosphorescent pigment with extreme afterglow. The afterglow is about 10 times longer than conventional pigments and about 10 times brighter. The excitation wavelength is very broad 200-450nm. These powders are designed to be mixed with clear coat and added to soft plastic resins to cause an extreme glow. This product is re-chargeable many times over just by exposing it to any light source, preferably those with Ultra Violet rays like sunlight or UV (black lights). This product can last for more than 10 years. Glow powder is used in a wide range of applications like production of glow in the dark clear coats for your lures. Simply add a small amount of glow pigment to your clear coat and stir. Test and add more pigment as required. The more pigment added the brighter the glow. The recommended ratio is 10% to 50% of glow powder pigment to paint depending on the glow results you are trying to achieve. If you wish to achieve a brighter glow you simply have to add more glow pigment.

pigment WHICH PAINTS DO I USE? You may add our Super Glow Pigment to any oil (solvent) or lacquer based paint which is transparent, translucent (neon and fluorescent) or clear paints like our clear lacquer. You should not add it to opaque paints because the pigment will be covered under the paint and the glow will not be very effective. You must have a base coat of white before appying your new glow in the dark paint. Our Super Glow Pigments are not recommended for use with waterbased paints. HOW DO I CHARGE MY PAINTED GLOW LURES? Once the paint is dry you can charge you lure by placing it in direct light source for 10 minutes or longer to achieve longest glow time. Sunlight and other lights rich in U/V (ultra violet) light are the best. Incandescent bulbs (standard light bulbs) are low in UV and do not charge super glow lures very well. HOW LONG WILL MY LURES GLOW? If properly charged your lures will glow all night long (2 to 10 hours)! Exact length of time will vary, depending on the amount of pigment you add to your paint and the light source used to charge your lure. RELATED PRODUCTS |
